Saunaravintola KAIHU floats off the Mikkelipuisto shore in Mikkeli with two shared saunas, a heated outdoor pool, swimming in Saimaa and winter ice bathing.

KAIHU is a floating sauna restaurant moored off the shore of Mikkelipuisto, the garden park on the edge of Mikkeli, built as one unit from Finnish cross-laminated timber on a concrete pontoon so that it sits on the water rather than beside it. The two saunas, Usva and Kaisla, look straight out across the bay through big windows and give the soft, easy löyly the place is known for. Between rounds there is a heated outdoor pool at about 81°F, the clean lake water of Saimaa off the deck, an ice hole in winter, and a lounge bar with a fireplace. In summer the downstairs terrace has sunbeds and the rooftop terrace, opened at Easter 2025, seats about eighty under a glass pergola.
