Steam City Sauna
A wood-fired sauna tent delivered, set up and lit for you anywhere around New Haven, with an optional ice or chilled cold plunge alongside it.
Steam City Sauna brings the sauna to you. Brian delivers it, sets it up, shows you how to run the stove, and comes back for it when you are done, around New Haven and out across Connecticut for events. The main rental is a North Shore Nova 6, a six person pop-up sauna tent on a ten by ten foot footprint that the operator says climbs past 200°F in about twenty minutes. A larger twelve by twelve foot dome tent handles bigger groups, and there is also a cedar clad sauna trailer with a picture window facing a two tier bench and a Harvia Legend 150 stove.
Steam City Sauna: wood-fired heat. Heater: Harvia Legend 150 wood-burning stove in the sauna trailer; the tents run a portable wood box stove with an open stone basket. Listed amenities: Cold plunge, Towel rental, Hosts events.
Listing type: Mobile sauna. Access: Reservation. New Haven is home base, and delivery and setup are included within ten miles of their 06515 base; farther out they add a per mile travel fee. Private events run across Connecticut. They will drop the sauna at a house or an apartment and leave you to use it where local rules allow, and say they set their own up on the beach in the off season. Listed capacity: Six on two tiers of benches in the Nova 6 tent, with a larger twelve by twelve foot dome tent for bigger groups. Cold plunge: An add-on rather than part of the sauna: a 126 gallon tub, filled with ice or held cold by a chiller. Hours: No fixed hours. Rentals run by the day with a two day minimum, and setup takes sixty to ninety minutes at the start. They ask for two to four weeks notice on weekends and in busy season, and say they can sometimes take a late booking. Snow is not a problem; only genuinely dangerous weather moves a date. Everything books on their own site under Rentals: pick the tent or the trailer, choose your dates, and add the cold plunge if you want it. A deposit holds the date and the balance comes due before the event. Cancel more than seven days out for a full refund; inside seven days it becomes a credit toward a future booking. You supply the spot, which means a flat area of roughly twelve by twelve feet for the sauna alone and closer to fifteen by fifteen with the plunge beside it. The chiller wants a water source and a standard household outlet within fifty feet; with ice instead, you bring the water and the ice. Their rental agreement limits the sauna to guests eighteen and over. SaunaShare records this listing as self-reported by the operator. A listing label describes where the information came from, not the quality of the sauna.
