Nick Holderbaum — a Columbus firefighter and sauna enthusiast — founded it in 2021 to give the city something it did not really have yet. In his own words, High Heat exists "to serve Columbus with a beautiful, health promoting wood-burning mobile sauna": a place to meet up and heat up with friends, or to have a quiet hour and reset.
