The name is Norwegian for warm, simple pleasures shared with others, and the founder brought the idea home after seven years in Oslo, where the floating sauna won them over. A session lasts 90 minutes and follows the Nordic rhythm: heat, a swim in the lake, a short rest, repeat. The house calls itself New York's first public floating sauna and runs all year, in every season. On the water The sauna holds 15 people and is Finnish style: hot and dry, between 176°F and 230°F with 5 to 20 percent humidity, with löyly released when water hits the hot rocks.
