Kabuki Springs & Spa
Kabuki Springs and Spa is Japantown's communal bathhouse since 1968: hot pool, cold plunge, cedar dry sauna and steam room in the tradition of Japan's sentos.
Kabuki Springs is the quiet heart of Japantown and one of the oldest continuously running bathhouses in America, open since 1968. In the tradition of Japan's sentos, as the house itself puts it, bathing here is elevated to an art form: you wash seated at the Japanese showers first, then move between the hot pool, the 55-degree cold plunge, the steam room and the cedar-lined dry sauna, which the operator keeps at 150 degrees for what it calls an intensely purifying effect. The room runs on near-silence, and the days alternate between women's, men's and all-gender sessions.
