SWET
A 1967 Airstream rebuilt into a wood-fired sauna, with an ice bath alongside, parked on Lake Travis and touring the Austin Hill Country.
The trailer is the point. Kristin Ehrgott and Kyle Atkinson took a 1967 Airstream, stripped it, and built a wood-fired sauna inside the shell, keeping the riveted aluminium skin that makes the thing recognisable from a quarter mile away. An ice bath sits outside it. The name is an acronym, Social With Extreme Temperatures, which tells you the format: this is built for going hot and cold in company rather than alone. It started in a New Jersey garage, with help from a family business in custom trailer work, and ran in San Diego before the whole operation moved to Austin. It now lives on the water at Spicewood on Lake Travis and travels for private bookings and events across the Hill Country.
SWET: wood-fired heat. Heater: Wood-fired stove, visible with a stone surround in their own photograph of the interior.. Listed amenities: Cold plunge, Hosts events, Social sauna sessions.
Listing type: Mobile rental. Access: Reservation. Based on Lake Travis at Spicewood, with pop-up sessions around Austin and private bookings across the Texas Hill Country. Cold plunge: Ice bath alongside the trailer. Sessions are booked on their own site. Three ways in: a guided session at whichever location they are parked at, a private booking of the whole trailer for your group, or a corporate or event hire.
