MinnesotaKōv Sauna is a mobile sauna company located in Appleton, Wisconsin, that aims to build a community through sauna experiences. Their mission is to introduce people in the Appleton and Fox Cities area to the incredible benefits of sauna, including social, relaxing, physical, and mental benefits, and provide a unique and enjoyable way to warm up during the cold winter months.
The pop-up sauna, located behind Moon Water Café on Sawe Street, is made of cedar and heated by a wood-fired stove from Lamppa KUUMA in Minnesota, offering a temperature range of 160 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Guests can book 75 or 90-minute private or community sessions and can expect to spend 12 to 15 minutes inside the sauna before stepping out to cool down. This process is repeated three times, depending on the length of the session.
Kōv Sauna’s co-owner, Nate Litt, launched the business in December, which he called the “prime sauna season” due to the contrast in temperature inside and outside the sauna. Litt compared the experience to cold water therapy, where the body becomes acclimated to the cold. He also revealed that the pop-up sauna is just the first phase of the business.
Although the city’s municipal code does not currently allow the renting out of commercial saunas, Kōv Sauna plans to rent out sauna trailers for events and parties in the future. Ultimately, the company aims to create a facility complete with multiple saunas, locker rooms, showers, cold plunges, and even a café or bar.

The company’s prices range from $40 per person for community sessions to $65 for guided private sessions, and bookings can be made online.
